The Swan Hotel

The Swan Hotel stands proudly on Eccleshall Road, just four minutes from Newport town centre. This handsome Georgian building was carefully restored by Joule’s Brewery in the summer of 2020, bringing new life to a much-loved local pub while staying true to its character.

Arriving by car, you’ll step in from the spacious car park straight into the bar — a welcoming space with reclaimed panelling, two large fireplaces and plenty of spots to settle in. It’s the perfect place to while away an afternoon over a pint or two.

If you’re joining us to dine, The Swan offers a choice of beautiful rooms. The Sunroom and Dining Room are ideal for relaxed lunches and classic pub catch-ups, where we pride ourselves on fresh, locally sourced food, paired with local ales brewed just 11 miles away at our brewery in Market Drayton.

For something a little more private, the Butler’s Bolthole is perfect for small gatherings of up to six people. Planning a larger celebration? The Regency Room can accommodate up to 60 guests and is well suited to birthdays, wedding anniversaries, small weddings, wakes and christenings. With elegant panelling, a private bar servery and two fireplaces, it’s a room made for special occasions.

At the bar, you’ll always find a strong line-up of Joule’s beers, including Joule’s Pale Ale, Slumbering Monk, Green Monkey, and a rotating selection of cold craft beers.

And if you fancy stretching your legs first, don’t miss the fantastic walk around Aqualate Mere, best finished, of course, with a well-earned pint of Joule’s back at The Swan.
