A true Moors pub, perched on a rise, fully exposed, and you’re totally captive when the weather sets in
This Tap house sits in the heart of Biddulph Moor, a community spirited village on the edge of the peak district within the Staffordshire Moorlands. Built from stone at the turn of the century this moor top Tap is much the same now as it was then. A true Moors pub, perched on a rise, fully exposed, and you’re totally captive when the weather sets in. If you venture out you will find spectacular views and receive a warm welcome on your return.
On most days, you will see smoke whisping reassuringly from the stone chimney which makes popping in difficult to resist. The village is set in an outstanding area of English countryside. The trip between the Rose and Crown and our Taphouse the Prince of Wales in Congleton is well worth the picturesque journey and is a mere 5 miles away.
The Taphouse has a front bar paved with beautiful quarry tiles and surrounded by leather bench seating and a comfortable and cosy lounge area next door complete with log burner.
Outside you will find the pub’s brand new Beer Shed, perfect for outdoor events, a great spot to enjoy a pint in the fresh air of the Moors.
A pub in the heart of the village, it is central to the community and very welcoming. It’s fantastic for walkers and well-behaved dogs. It is not unusual to see the odd tractor parked in the Tap’s own car park just to the side of the pub.
Always on Tap, Joule’s Pale Ale, Slumbering Monk, Pure Blonde and our English craft lager Green Monkey, alongside our rotating seasonal ale and cold craft beer. All brewed in Market Drayton with pure Shropshire mineral water.
