The Mere’s restoration reflects its Victorian roots bringing back the snugs and cosy corners reminiscent of a quaint Mid-Victorian parlour pub
The Mere Inn, is nestled on the corner of Crewe Road in the pretty little town of Alsager. Originally a farming community it remained very much so until the railways and growth of nearby Stoke on Trent in the 19th century. The town secured its image as a picturesque location to visit and settle in and our Taphouse is named after the towns pride and joy ‘The Mere’ a lake in the centre of Alsager.
The Mere, underwent in 2012 an extensive restoration adding some lovely oak panelling, bespoke stained-glass windows and the creation of a cosy meeting room where you can comfortably seat 10 people. The Brewery has returned the Mere to reflect its Victorian roots bringing back the snugs and cosy corners reminiscent of a quaint Mid-Victorian parlour pub.
Our Taphouse boasts a small but perfectly formed walled beer garden host to live music throughout the year.
Always on Tap, Joule’s Pale Ale, Slumbering Monk, Pure Blonde and our English craft lager Green Monkey, alongside our rotating seasonal ale and cold craft beer. All brewed in Market Drayton with pure Shropshire mineral water.
There is easy parking just a 2-minute walk away at the town’s pay.
Don’t miss, The Mere serves brilliant pub food at great value with the speciality being Sunday lunch from 12noon – 4pm. Also the and annual Beer festival.
