Across the first weekend in October Stone Food and Drink Festival has become Staffordshire’s biggest gastronomic gathering.

The festival has blossomed into a real celebration of food & drink that visitors travel miles to attend; marking the first weekend of October every year as a red-letter day in the foodie calendar.

Over the weekend, Landlord Darren and his team of staff from the Royal Oak, Eccleshall were pouring the pints at our very own Joule’s Pop-up-Pub. Throughout the weekend, the summer t-shirt promotion was extended giving guests the last chance to get their hands on a Joule’s t-shirt for the year. The atmosphere in the Pub and Beer Garden was buzzing with a fantastic range of live music on the Main Stage and provided the perfect excuse to enjoy another pint or two of Joule’s.

The festival also featured the return of Joule’s popular seasonal ale Moon Madness, brewed by the night brewer, a dark, rich, rounded ale. This mysterious but luxurious mild is brewed using high-quality English grown malts, roasted alive, and giving the ale hints of rich fruit, treacle and liquorice. Well worth a sample over a chilly October weekend.

But of course, the main topic of conversation on everyone’s lips was Crown Wharf. It was fantastic to hear of everyone’s memories of Joule’s in Stone and even to see some photos of Joule’s as it was back in the day. It’s great to see that everyone is eagerly anticipating the return of Joule’s to Stone and we look forward to breaking ground in 2019.
