That’s why we brew in the traditional way, in open fermenters with whole-flower hops, at our Market Drayton brewery – a stone’s throw from where it all began, in Stone, Staffordshire. Our beers are unpasteurised, unfiltered, and lovingly cask conditioned. That means they’re living, breathing pints – with flavour that’s never flat or forced.
But tradition doesn’t mean standing still. Our latest brews, like Hawaii Haze, show just how far you can push craft within the cask. It’s a hazy session IPA bursting with mango and pineapple – modern, juicy, and still perfectly balanced. Think of it as our nod to today’s hop-forward styles, brewed the Joule’s way.

For the purist, there’s Joule’s Pale Ale – the original revival of our historic brew, a clean, smooth, bitter ale with a dry finish that’s stood the test of time. It’s the beer that laid the foundations for everything we’ve brewed since, and it remains a firm favourite across the bar. If your taste leans a little darker, Slumbering Monk is your go-to – rich and rounded, with roasted malt, hints of toffee, and a depth of flavour that lingers just long enough to tempt another sip. It’s a comforting pint, perfect for slower moments and good conversation.
Then there’s Green Monkey, our cold beer – bright, crisp, and unashamedly moreish, with subtle floral notes and a clean finish that makes it a popular choice year-round. Whether you’re basking in the sun in one of our beer gardens or taking a moment inside on a busy evening, it’s a crowd-pleaser that always hits the spot.
