Set in the high street of a really pretty market town.  Leek itself is bustling, full of interesting shops as well as a great market, both indoor and out.  The indoor market was once part of the Cock Inn and part was sold to the town by the brewery in 1926, the Cock was originally a Joule’s house, one of a few, which have turned full circle and are once again in the Joule’s livery.

You will find the Cock Inn on Derby Street, with some dispute as to which number, however in the heart of the town adjacent at the rear to the market square.  A pub has been on this site for over 300 years, parts of the original timber structure are still visible in the front bar.  The pub is very much in our style, oak panelling, leather settles, oak floors, and of course an open fire.

This was the first pub in which we re-introduced the Joule’s brand which used to be very strong in Leek, we are looking forward to 2010 when the Original Pale Ale will finally return, until then we are offering a range of our favourite ales.

Alan and Lynne are Leek veterans and run a very very good pub; they offer food which is all home cooked - classic proper pub food without compromise and without short cuts.  Alan has an attention to detail in his style, they are both complete perfectionists and wonderful hosts.

Parking at the rear on the market square and garden benches for outdoor drinking and smoking.
