The Cross Keys was a great find us for our Chester Tap, inside the city walls and just up from the river it’s a great spot for locals and enquiring visitors to find our tap on the corner of Lower Bridge Street & Duke Street which is becoming a great street for real ale along with Okels, Spitting Feathers and Sam Smiths all close by.
It’s a very small single roomed Victorian Gem, a real character tavern, a corner city bar in an ancient city. Our hosts here Dave and Jane are of course passionate about real English craft cask ale, and showcase our beer. They also do a very good food offer, simple and quick, great value as they use the best and freshest ingredients. The pub has a real quality feel within it, leather seats, oak floors and a Joules hallmark finish which we hope you will enjoy. As always Dave will be happy to take names to visit the brewery and of course orders for pins or boxes of beer.
We have also created the perfect pub for hire, The Slaughtered Lamb our upstairs pub is full of the everything that’s great in a pub, you can pull your own beer (by prior arrangement), play shove ha’penny, enjoy nostalgic tracks on the free juke box, or play a bit of darts and bar billiards. The food offer is varied but includes the pub classics of course such as, bangers and mash or shepherds pie. We are aiming to attract local folk for club & society meetings and informal occasions be it a birthday, anniversary or christening.
