The shops are dressed to the nines and the Christmas adverts are on TV, which can only mean one thing the Joule’s Turkey Trot is around the corner.

The 5K Christmas fun run is a spectacle of christmas characters and one not to be missed will take place on Sunday 10th December starting and finishing at the Brewery.

There will be warm ups and coffee from 10am at the Red Lion, Market Drayton with the Trot starting at 11am and mince pies and a pint of Joule’s on offer for all runners at the finish line. The Turkey Trot has become a popular annual event and is deffinetly one not to be missed.

The 5K Trot which can be ran, jogged or walked by adults, children and dogs will leave the Brewery at 11am and continue through the historic town of Market Drayton, Shropshire. Vicky, Brand Manager for Joule’s Brewery said, ‘Back by popular demand, it is a fantastically fun event with everyone in high spirits it really captures the cummunity Christmas spirit. It is great for The Brewery Tap, The Red Lion to host a pub often being thought of as the center of the community but also it has great beers and warm fires for everyone to huddle around after the trot.’

Local businesses, Shepleys Butchers & Fix Auto, Market Drayton have very kindly donated 1st, 2nd & 3rd prizes for both male & female runners. Joule’s have also donated a ‘Beer in Box’, containing 36 pints of Joule’s Ale, for the best fancy dressed adult runner, a bucket of sweets for the for the best fancy dressed child and a Christmas dog stocking for the best dressed dog.

The Red Lion Brewery Tap have arranged an afternoon of festive treats for everyone to enjoy. Not only will all trotters be given a voucher for a free pint or soft drink and mince pie at The Red Lion Inn to enjoy after the fun run.

Entry to the Trot is £6 and forms can be found at The Red Lion Inn Market Drayton, Fix Auto Market Drayton and The Lord Hill, Market Drayton, however there is limited availability and therefore it would be encourgaed to get a trot on and sign up to avoid disappointment. Nevertheless entry on the day should still be possible but of course this will be subject to availability.
