Original Pale Ale
The brewery has been designed and built with a single purpose; to brew the original and once world famous Joule’s Pale Ales. Their pale ale was legendary, and the beer which established the company. When Bass closed the brewery the records, including the brewer’s notes and methods were stored in the Bass archive – the museum site and the yeast in the Bass yeast bank. In recent years Coors micro plant has brewed the original beer on a small scale using Burton water to wide spread acclaim.
In 2010 the new Joule’s brewery will brew to the same recipe but with soft spring water and at full scale. We look forward to the judgement of others – can we truly make the original Joules pale ale.
Later we will add some stable mates to the original, a Best Bitter and a Premium Ale but our focus for now, will be just the Original.
